Abstract

|
Purpose: This study investigated to predict Korean Optometric business environment in future which could be influenced by the scientific technology development and to find out what countermeasure needs to be prepared.
Methods: The future of the world reports and the annual reports provided by the domestic government were collected to diagnose Korean Optometric entire business enviornment.
Results: The productivity increased while the employees decreased in the area of the optical industry. In addition, the automatic lens dispensing edger and the auto-refractometer have so developed that the consumer could easily reach those items in regard to the practice of Optician.
Conclusions: Korean Optician should develop the value creation based on the German master craftsmanship and have to keep policy efforts to deal with the visual rehabilitation beyond the refraction.
